Tagan Shepard is an award-winning author of women-loving-women fiction, including the 2019 Goldie Award winner, Bird on a Wire, and the 2024 Goldie finalist, Pumpkin Spice. Her work has ranged from contemporary romance to science fiction to action. But all of her work has one thing in common: it centers around extraordinary women falling in love with other extraordinary women.

Tagan is an avid reader, devouring every genre she can get her hands on. She is a cat lover, wasting far too much time chasing her fur babies around to adorn them with hats and muscle tees (she rarely catches them). She’s a gamer, mainly PlayStation, but she’s been known to dabble in good old PC classics. Her favorites include Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Assassin’s Creed, Baldur’s Gate III, and Diablo II.

You can probably catch Tagan anywhere they’ll let her talk about or listen to other people talk about WLW books. She is the former Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the Golden Crown Literary Society (GCLS) and has a passion for making our genre and our community a more welcoming, inclusive space.

She also loves cheese. And wine. And bread. Pizza. French pastries. Look, if it has too many calories and doctors say you should limit your intake, she’s a fan.
